More and More People are building with Rammed Earth

Architecture studio Blaanc just introduced a fresh contemporary take on the ancient building material of rammed earth. The Vineyard House is a single-family dwelling located in the heart of a family vineyard in Montijo, Portugal. The single-story home uses a combination of rammed earth, solar shading screens, and large glazed openings to maintain cool temperatures in the summer and a mild indoor environment in the winter.
